At 9 am on Wednesday, February 14, officers were dispatched to Sunset Billiards, 1215 W Crawford, in response to an alarm call. Before arrival, officers were informed to disregard, as the business personnel would check on the situation themselves. At 9:17 am, staff members contacted SPD to report a burglary had indeed occurred on the premises.
According to reports, the perpetrator had forcibly entered through the backdoor. Once inside, two Dragons Ascent gaming machines were damaged. Despite finding no cash within, the individual attempted to pry open the machines, causing an estimated $400 in damages to each. Additionally, the backdoor suffered significant damage, tallying up to $1,200 due to a broken glass window.
