Officers conducted a traffic stop on Sunday, February 25, at 3:30 pm, in the 1200 block of W Crawford, resulting in the arrest of 34-year-old Jacob Thompson. Allegedly failing to halt at a stop sign while driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500, Thompson drew the attention of officers.

During the stop, a K-9 unit alerted officers to the possible presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Subsequent searches uncovered two pill bottles, one containing 208 suspected Oxycodone pills and the other containing 33. In total, 241 pills were seized.

Further complicating the situation, Thompson was accompanied by a 9-year-old male passenger, leading to the additional requested charge of aggravated child endangerment. Alongside this, Thompson faces requested charges of distribution of a stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to possess a drug tax stamp, traffic violations, and failure to have an interlock device installed.
