Salina Woman Arrested in Connection to Domestic Incident

Officers responded to the 500 block of W Claflin at 3:28 am for a domestic violence call on Tuesday, September 19. They made contact with 2 females, one whom was identified as 18-year-old Michelle Ruiz. The other was a 19-year-old female victim.

The victim had reportedly arrived at the residence, parked outside, and Ruiz came out of the house. Ruiz allegedly proceeded to shove and slap the victim, pushed her down and attempted to strangle her, to where the victim nearly lost consciousness.

The victim was able to get back in her vehicle, and Ruiz reportedly jumped onto the windshield, causing $1,600 in damage to vehicle, including a broken mirror. When officers arrested Ruiz, she allegedly had a THC vape pen in her possession. She was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Aggrevated Kidnapping
  • Aggrevated Domestic Battery
  • Aggrevated Intimidation of a Witness
  • Criminal Threat
  • Felony Damage to Property
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
