On Monday, February 12, at 12:11 pm, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W Iron following reports of a potential domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 35-year-old female victim, along with her 48-year-old boyfriend, Torick Patton, at their residence.

Patton was allegedly preventing the woman from leaving the premises, forcibly pushing her away from the door. Matters escalated when Patton purportedly brandished his belt, threatening the victim by raising it above his head.

Further investigation revealed a harrowing incident that had occurred two days prior, wherein Patton had allegedly pinned the woman to a bed, strangling her with both hands, resulting in her inability to breathe and sustaining injuries to her neck.

Subsequently, Patton was apprehended and now faces a litany of requested charges including aggravated domestic violence battery, domestic violence battery, assault, and criminal restraint.
