In an incident that unfolded on November 24 at 10:19 pm, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 block of N 9th due to a reportedly damaged driver's side brake lamp. The vehicle evaded authorities, weaving through the neighborhood until reaching a trailer park in the 1100 block of N 12th. Here, an unidentified passenger exited the vehicle. The driver continued north on 9th, ultimately rear-ended a 2018 Honda Odyssey in the 1500 block, resulting in the suspect's vehicle becoming disabled.

Officers purportedly discovered THC oil within the vehicle. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Heather Platte-Evans, was taken into custody. Platte-Evans faces requested charges including fleeing and eluding, interference with law enforcement, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, driving with a suspended license, and various traffic offenses.
