On Tuesday, February 13th at 2:15 pm, officers were dispatched to Dick’s located at 2450 S. 9th Street following reports of a theft. According to store staff, two individuals departed the premises around 2 pm without paying for multiple Nike clothing items.

Before details about the suspects were disseminated to local units, a Saline County Deputy intercepted a black Honda Accord reportedly bearing an expired Tennessee license plate on I-135 at milepost 82. Upon investigation, it was revealed that one of the vehicle's suspects had allegedly engaged a store employee in conversation as a distraction, while the other absconded with a cart loaded with Nike merchandise. The stolen clothing, valued at $1274, was recovered from the vehicle.

During the vehicle search, authorities reportedly discovered additional stolen items, including a pressure washer, several necklaces, and a chess set, which were traced back to Walmart. Walmart employees confirmed the items' theft from their store.

The suspects were identified as 42-year-old Demarcus Hoover from Wichita and 35-year-old Manuel Moya from Maize. Both individuals were arrested on the requested charge of felony theft.
