Food Delivery Employee Deploys Pepper Spray after Reported Robbery

On Thursday, November 9, at 11:52 pm, officers responded to a reported aggravated robbery in the 700 block of Fairdale. The incident unfolded as a food delivery worker delivered a meal to an apartment, adhering to a no-contact request from the recipient. The order was left at the doorstep, and as the employee returned to their vehicle, an assailant approached from behind.

The suspect, described as a white male donning a black zip-up Adidas jacket, blue jeans, and a dark beanie with a hand concealed in their sleeve, confronted the delivery person. The victim suspected the person either possessed a firearm or was feigning possession. When the assailant demanded money, the victim complied, but swiftly retaliated by extracting pepper spray and deploying it against the suspect, prompting their hasty retreat.

Officers arrived on the scene, initiating a thorough search of the vicinity with the assistance of a K-9 unit. The suspect was not located.
