Copper Wire Theft Investigated in Northeast Salina

Deputies are currently investigating a case involving the theft of copper wire from a job site in northeast Salina. The incident occurred sometime between February 15th at 5 pm and February 16th at 8 am, where copper wire belonging to PAR Electrical Contractors Inc. out of Grantville, KS, was stolen.

According to reports, the company had a truck parked in the 2100 block of E North St for work at a substation. Upon returning to their shop and conducting an inventory of supplies, it was discovered that the copper wire had gone missing. The stolen items include 8 12ft long AWG grounds, each valued at $1,200, 3 20ft 4 AWG macs valued at $400 each, and 3 12ft macs valued at $300 each. Additionally, a lock valued at $60 was reported missing.

All wiring had screw clamps on the ends to allow for clamping onto power lines.
