Buddhist Temple in Salina Targeted by Burglars

In a startling incident on Wednesday, December 13, at 4:03 pm, Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the Buddhist Temple of Salina, located at 2857 W Pleasant Hill Rd. The alarm was raised by a vigilant Monk who had heard suspicious activity within the temple premises.

Initially assuming the presence of temple guests from Alaska, the Monk discovered a group of four males and one female, all appearing to be in their 30s or 40s. Notably, the suspects were identified as possibly being of Muslim descent. The intruders were found rummaging through a back room and made off with a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash and important documents.

The suspects hastily fled the scene in a dark green minivan, mirroring the description of a group believed to have committed a similar act at a temple in Colorado.
