On August 2, Deputies took a report of an aggravated kidnapping and battery that was said to have occurred in the 200 block of Hawkes, in Gypsum. Another report was taken later that day of domestic abuse that happened at the same address, where a 20-year-old female was the victim in both. Deputies requested charges through the County Attorney, but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation was ongoing.

Yesterday, on September 6 at 3:48 pm, Deputies received a call for another disturbance at the same location, and learned that the same victim was involved. The female was able to escape the house and contact law enforcement.

The victim reported that she had contacted another female, identified as 57-year-old Trisha Womack, at the residence, who said the suspect was not home and that the victim, their roommate, could retrieve her things from the home. However, the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Bradley Stanley, was allegedly waiting for the victim in the house. While there, both suspects, who were said to be dating, tried to convince the victim not to testify against Stanley in the two previous criminal complaints. An altercation ensued, and the victim was not allowed to leave. The pair moved her to several locations within the house, and someone was always with her.

Later on, while the two suspects were asleep, the victim was able to escape. With the help of a neighbor, she was able to get to Salina and contact law enforcement.

The Sheriff's Office Investigation Unit, as well as Patrol, went to the house with a search warrant. Contact was made with Womack, who reportedly said that Stanley was not home. Womack was taken into custody, the house was secured, and Deputies began clearing the house for Bradley. He was found in a bedroom behind a false wall in the closet. OC gas was deployed in the search.

Stanley was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • DV Battery
  • Aggravated Kidnapping
  • Aggravated Intimidation of a Witness
  • Criminal Threat
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Paraphernalia

Stanley's warrant from the incident on August 2 includes:

  • Aggravated Kidnapping
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Aggravated DV Battery Impeding Breathing

Womack was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Aggravated Kidnapping
  • Aggravated Intimidation of a Witness
  • Criminal Threat
  • Obstruction of Apprehension
