131 MPH Interstate Chase Ends in Arrest

A Tennessee man was arrested on numerous requested charges after KHP clocked him at 131 mph.

Sheriff Soldan says that on Sunday, April 16, at 10:18 am, a Deputy was near the Assaria exit on Interstate 135. The Deputy allegedly observed a 2022 black Toyota Camry, fly by northbound. He alerted another Deputy that was closer to the Crawford exit, who allegedly clocked the driver at 110 mph.

A pursuit was initiated and picked up by KHP at the Interstate 70 & Interstate 135 interchange. Troopers chased the vehicle westbound on I70 to Halstead Rd, northbound on Halstead to Shipton Rd, then eastbound on Shipton, allegedly clocking in at 131 mph. After going on Shipton Rd for a bit, the driver pulled over and stopped.

Contact was made with 20-year-old Kilakone Southavilay of Cordova, Tennesee. He was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Felony flee & elude
  • Reckless driving
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Speeding
  • Improver driving on laned roadway
