The top of the leaderboard was all purple at the Women's Midwest Cup hosted by Kansas Wesleyan on Monday and Tuesday at Salina Country Club.
Kansas Wesleyan's A-Team won the tournament and the B-Team finished in a tie for second, and the Coyotes had the Top 3 finishers in the event as Wesleyan came away with the victory.
The A-Team finished with a score of 663 for the 2-round tournament winning by 28 shots over the KWU-B team and Grand View University, who tied for second with a 691. Ottawa was fourth with a 727 and MidAmerica Nazarene was fifth with a 777.
Individually the Coyotes had the top three finishers led by Abby Donovan winning the tournament by a shot over teammate Sarah Krenowicz. Donovan carded a first-round 83, but bounced back with a 74 on Tuesday to claim the win. Krenowicz posted a first round 77 and followed with an 81 for a 158.
Hannah Hart was third with a 163, posting scores of 84 and 79.
KWU also had three more in the Top 10, as Thalia Ramirez tied for sixth with a 170 on a pair of 85s, Ryann Warren was eighth with a 171 carding an 84 and a 87, and Chaney Littell tied for ninth with a 172, with rounds of 87 and 85.
Kelsey Essex finished tied for 11th with a 173, with rounds of 87 and 86 to round out the scorers on the A-Team.
Ashlyn Armstrong was 14th with a 175 (85-90), Abby Day was 22nd with a 191 (92-99) and Savanna Nickum tied for 24th with a 195 (98-97) to round out the B-team scorers for the Coyotes along with Donovan and Ramirez.
KWU also had three individuals playing as Emily Stamper finished 15th with a 176 (91-85), Morgan McReynolds was 17th with a 179 (86-93) and Magen Down tied for 18th with a 180 (89-91).
Up next for the Coyotes will be the Kyle Blaser Invitational hosted by Oklahoma City University in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, before the KCAC Women's Golf Championships on April 15 and 16.
