On Saturday, June 17, at 10:21 pm in the 700 block of Cherokee, officers responded to a call of an individual attempting to forcibly enter a residence that was not theirs, while screaming. Officers made contact with 28-year-old Tyler Bastin of Salina, who was allegedly behaving in an intoxicated state.

Officers learned that Bastin's vehicle, a white 2007 Chrysler 300, was allegedly parked in the driveway with two young children inside: a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. The officers discovered that Bastin had allegedly driven to the location, prompting a DUI investigation. As a result, Tyler Bastin was taken into custody for the requested charges of DUI and two counts of child endangerment.

During the investigation, Bastin allegedly kicked and spit on one of the officers, leading to the requested charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and interference with law enforcement. Furthermore, as she allegedly attempted to gain entry into the house, Bastin caused damage to the property by ripping off window screens, resulting in a requested charge of property damage.
