On the evening of Saturday, November 25, at 4:27 pm, a 61-year-old male, concluding his workday in the 400 block of E Berg Rd. Upon starting his 2001 Ford Ranger pickup and allowing it to idle for warm-up, he suddenly heard a distinct pop emanating from beneath the vehicle and observed flames emerging underneath. The Salina Fire Department extinguishing the fire before it could spread to the engine compartment. Nevertheless, fire damage was sustained underneath the pickup.
