Beginning Thursday, July 27, the City of Salina Public Works Department will be replacing a section of the roadway located on the 1100 block of W. Republic. The damage was due to the extreme temperatures which caused the road to heave excessively. This area of W. Republic will be condensed to one lane of traffic; west bound traffic will need to yield to east bound traffic when passing through the work zone. Advance warnings signs are in place to notify motor vehicles of the work zone conditions.
Weather permitting, repairs are expected to be completed within five days.
