On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Veterans, Southeast of Saline 7th and 8th graders, Cornerstone Classical School children, and People from Salina and surrounding areas gathered to remember and honor our American heroes who have given their service and lives to protect the American People.
The service was led by the Master of Ceremonies, Commander of VFW Post 1432 David Medina Jr.

VFW Chaplain Mike Weis led in prayer for our Veterans after the presentation of the colors, the National Anthem, and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

The first-grade children from Cornerstone Classical School recited the Declaration of Independence, followed by guest speaker Col. Karen Weis.

Col. Weis noted, "Our Nation is not a self-serving society. It was founded with a mission to help build a world where liberty and justice prevail. This is a tall order for those that take the oath to serve our country." Later saying, "Military service is called service because it involves individuals putting their personal needs aside to take an oath to serve a cause larger than themselves, defending our country. Today is a special day as we are called to honor those who have made the commitment. Thank you to each one of you, as you have taken the solemn oath to serve your country."

Service was concluded by a Salute to the Fallen and Taps, followed by the benediction.

Salute to the Fallen and Taps
