UPDATE: On December 9th at 10:05 am, officers were sent to the 1600 block of W Republic. According to reports, an 88-year-old woman crashed her 2011 Hyundai Alantra into a front porch, resulting in its destruction. The vehicle was heading northbound when, at a stop sign, the driver inadvertently confused the gas and brake pedals, leading to the collision with the porch. The elderly woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to SRHC. The accident resulted in substantial damage to both the car and the porch.
ORIGINAL: At 10:10 am on Saturday, December 9, first responders were dispatched to the 1600 block of W Republic for a vehicle that had driven into a porch, and possibly a house. The driver is said to be trapped in the vehicle, and any injuries inside the house are unknown at this point. Salina311 will have more information as it becomes available.
