UPDATE: Saline Man Arrested in Connection to Stolen Vehicle & Pursuit
UPDATE: Sgt Tonniges has released that Brandon Loder, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, September 26, in connection to a pursuit with a stolen vehicle that began at Crawford and Centennial. Requested charges include the following:
- Flee & Elude
- Interference with Law Enforcement
- Driving while Suspended
- Duty of Driver to Report an Accident
- Fail to Yield at a Stop Sign
- Fail to Yield from a Private Road or Drive
- Speeding
- Disobeying a Traffic Signal
- Theft of a Vehicle $1,500-25,000
ORIGINAL: At 9:21 am on Monday, September 25, officers responded to the 300 block of Jewell for the report of a stolen vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle, a 48-year-old Salina woman, reported her 2019 white Ford Fusion was stolen overnight. At the time of the report, she believed both sets of vehicle keys were in her possession.
At 1:18 am on September 26, the SPD license plate reader alerted to the possible location of the vehicle in the area of Crawford and Centennial. An officer located the vehicle in the area, and attempted a traffic stop. A pursuit ensued from the area of Crawford and Centennial, to Republic and around the surrounding neighborhood, to Broadway, then stopping in the 900 block of Sheridan. The driver fled on foot. Speeds reached 71 mph.
A passenger was located in the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle later realized she was missing a set of keys.
