Vehicle Passenger Suffers Head Injury After Weekend Crash

On Saturday, November 4th, at 2:10 am, officers were sent to the 1000 block of State St in response to a vehicle crash. The incident involved a 2008 Mercury Mariner that was traveling eastward on State at a high rate of speed when it crossed over railroad tracks, resulting in a loss of control. The Mariner side swiped a parked vehicle before crashing into a tree.

Neither the 20-year-old driver nor the 21-year-old passenger had been wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. The passenger was transported to SRHC with a significant head injury.
