UPDATE: Collision at Broadway & State Results in Injuries

UPDATE: In an accident that occurred on June 2nd at approximately 3:30 pm, a collision took place at the intersection of Broadway and State. The accident involved two vehicles, one traveling southbound on Broadway and the other eastbound on State, resulting in damage and injuries.

Captain Forrester says that 39-year-old Salina woman reportedly ran a red light on Broadway, leading to the collision with a 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by a 68-year-old woman from Minneapolis, KS. The impact between the two vehicles caused front-end damage to the 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by the Salina woman, which had to be towed from the scene. The Dodge also sustained damage to its front and driver side and had to be towed as well.

Both the Salina woman and a female passenger transported to SRHC for medical attention. The driver of the Chevy was cited for failure to stop at a stop light, and neither her nor her passenger were reported to have been wearing a seat belt.


ORIGINAL: At 3:45 pm on Friday, June 2, first responders were dispatched to the area of Broadway and State for a vehicle accident. The extent of injuries is unknown at this point. Salina311 will have more information as it becomes available.
