SALINA, KS – August 4, 2025
Salina Public Schools (USD 305) are preparing to welcome students back to classrooms next week, with the first official day of the 2025–2026 school year set for Wednesday, August 13.
The district’s staggered start allows for a smoother transition for students entering new buildings or grade levels.
📌 Key Dates:
- Wednesday, August 13
• First day for Grades 1–5, 6, and 9
• No school for Grades 7, 8, 10, 11, or 12
• Pre-K and Kindergarten will attend by appointment only for scheduled parent-teacher conferences - Thursday, August 14
• All Grades 1–12 in session
• Pre-K and Kindergarten continue with conferences by appointment - Friday, August 15
• Kindergarten joins Grades 1–12 for full attendance - Monday, August 18
• All students Pre-K through Grade 12 begin attending on the regular schedule
In preparation for the new academic year, new certified staff report to work on August 4–5. An optional staff development day is scheduled for August 6, followed by teacher in-service and workdays running August 7–12.
Parents are encouraged to finalize back-to-school preparations, including checking transportation schedules, school supply lists, and completing any outstanding enrollment or health paperwork.
