Salina, KS – The Salina Central girls tennis team secured their fourth straight Regional team championship on Saturday at the Salina Central tennis complex. The Mustangs were propelled by strong performances across the board, including a dramatic victory by the senior doubles team of sisters Addison and Mallory Renfro.
In an all-Central final under the lights at the STA Tennis Center, the Renfro sisters claimed the doubles title, defeating their triplet sister, Claire Renfro, and her partner, Kinsley Foth. The doubles showdown showcased the depth of talent within the Central program.
Although Central's singles players, Cadence Foth and Brooke Banninger, did not qualify for the State tournament, their key victories helped push the team ahead of second-place finisher Newton, ensuring Central's dominance at the Regional level.
The top six finishers in both singles and doubles at Regionals advance to the State tournament, which will take place next week in Andover on October 18th and 19th. Salina Central will be well represented as the Renfro sisters, along with Claire Renfro and Kinsley Foth, aim to bring home more hardware at the state level.
