63-Year-Old Man Injured in Aggravated Battery Incident, Suspect Arrested
On September 24, a 63-year-old male victim was assaulted in the 700 block of Park, resulting in severe injuries. According to authorities, the man was sucker-punched to the ground, sustaining a broken left collarbone and a bitten-off portion of his left index finger. The victim was taken to the hospital, where the incident was reported by both the victim and hospital staff.
The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Wesley Spragg, was arrested shortly after the attack. He now faces charges of aggravated battery for causing great bodily harm. According to police, an independent witness corroborated the victim’s account of the incident.
The motive behind the assault remains under investigation, but authorities confirmed that the victim and suspect were known to each other. The police are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
