On August 12th at around 6:00 pm, a 64-year-old Salina man reported his red 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 stolen from the Dollar General parking lot at 2000 South Ninth Street. The man had left the keys in the ignition while shopping, and within ten minutes, the truck was taken. The vehicle is valued at $5,000 and is identifiable by its stainless steel running boards. The license plate number is KS 5170ACV.
Police remind the public to avoid leaving keys in vehicles, even for a short time, to prevent such thefts. The investigation is ongoing.
