Two Injured in Intersection Collision Near Gypsum

On August 6, 2024, at 3:30 pm, a collision occurred at the intersection of Amos Road and Hedburg Road. A 2013 GMC Sierra truck, driven by a 16-year-old male from Salina was traveling northbound on Amos. A 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by a 38-year-old male from the Gypsum area was traveling eastbound on Hedburg. The vehicles collided as they arrived at the intersection simultaneously.

The 16-year-old driver was transported to Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) for treatment, while the 38-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. The intersection lacks traffic signs, requiring drivers to yield to the vehicle on their right. The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to veer into a nearby milo field, resulting in damage to the field.
