On August 6, 2024, at 6:30 am, a single-vehicle accident occurred at mile marker 17 on K-140, west of Brookville Road. The accident happened when a westbound 2016 Ram 2500 crew cab swerved to avoid an animal in the road, veering into the south ditch. The vehicle crashed into and over a driveway.
The driver, a 38-year-old male from Salina, sustained miscellaneous non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) for treatment. The vehicle involved was a work vehicle.
