County Commission Approves New Vision Care Plan

County Commission Approves New Vision Care Plan

On July 23, 2024, the County Commission approved a request from the Human Resources department to switch the voluntary materials vision plan for employees from Superior Vision to Vision Care Direct. This decision comes after feedback from employees who expressed a desire for a plan with a wider network of providers.

The current Superior Vision plan only has three in-network providers, while the new Vision Care Direct plan boasts 19 local providers. This change aims to offer employees better access to vision care services.

The Vision Care Direct plan is set to begin with the new plan year starting on October 1, 2024. Since the plan is entirely employee-paid, there is no budgetary impact on the county.

The commission approved the Vision Care Direct Group Application following a vote, ensuring improved vision care options for county employees.
