County Commission Approves Nominations to Solid Waste Committee

On July 9, 2024, the Saline County Commission approved nominations to the Salina/Saline County Solid Waste Management Committee during their meeting. The committee, responsible for reviewing the community's solid waste plan and making recommendations for changes, has members appointed by the City of Salina. Three of these members are nominated by the County Commission, including one resident of the unincorporated area and two at-large representatives.

Tom Bell, currently serving as an at-large representative, was reappointed for another term. Casey McCoy, a resident of the unincorporated area, was appointed as the unincorporated representative. The Commission made these nominations to fill the current vacancies and to ensure continued effective representation on the committee.

The City of Salina requested these nominations by July 16, with appointments scheduled for July 22. The County Commission passed the nominations in a vote and will continue to seek interest for the remaining at-large representative position.
