On June 30 at 1:56 am, a Saline County Sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop with a 2003 GM pickup speeding at 70 mph in a 40 mph zone at Ninth Street and Prescott Avenue. The driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended at Walnut Street and Eleventh Street. The male driver exited the vehicle and ran westbound on Walnut Street, leaving the vehicle at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded, and a Salina Police Department officer requested a unit to check a residence in the 700 block of West Walnut Street. At 3:30 am, Curtis Frisbie, 23, of Salina, was taken into custody at the residence.
During the investigation, the deputy noticed the vehicle had damage. It was determined the damage was linked to a collision that happened during the pursuit. Frisbie's vehicle collided with a legally parked 2018 Honda CRV at Walnut Street and Eleventh Street, causing minor damage to the driver's rear quarter area.
Frisbie faces requested charges including fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, speeding, duty to report an accident, and DUI.
