In the early hours of June 26, a Saline County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a gray 2020 Ford Explorer for speeding at 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Hohneck Road. The vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Kayla Errebo of Loraine, fled northbound, left the roadway, and struck a tree while going through a ditch.
Despite the crash, Errebo continued to flee, leaving a fluid trail that the deputy followed onto State Street. The vehicle was shortly found heading west on State Street. The deputy attempted another stop, and after a brief pursuit with the vehicle's right rear tire damaged, the car finally stopped. Errebo was arrested on requested charges of fleeing and eluding, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and multiple traffic violations.
