The Granny Brigade hosted a primary candidate forum on June 18 at the Carver Center, featuring a lineup of local political hopefuls. In attendance were Gerald Johnson, Kathleen Malone Crouch, Annie Grevas, Michelle Newell, Tonya Moran-Diaz, John Reynolds, Richard Buck, Tony Newell, Jamie Doss, and Rodger Sparks.
Absent due to a special session in Topeka were current state representatives J.R. Claeys, Clarke Sanders, and Steven Howe. Dawn Wolf was unable to attend but gave a written statement that was read at the forum. Cynthia Huebner and Sheriff Roger Soldan were also unable to attend, while Tracey Mann, Eric Bloom, and Bill DeSilvey did not respond to the invitation.
Primary voting is scheduled for August 6, 2024, followed by the general election on November 5, 2024.
