County Commission Approves ARPA Grant for Senior Services Security System

County Commission Approves ARPA Grant for Senior Services Security System

The Saline County Commission has approved a request from Senior Services to accept a $16,160.15 grant from the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging (NCFHAAA) funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The funds will be used to purchase and install a new security system at the Senior Services facility.

The proposed security system will include cameras and sensors to monitor both the building and its parking lot, with the capability to record all activity during and after business hours. This enhancement aims to improve the safety and security of the premises for all visitors and staff.

The grant will cover the full cost of the security system, ensuring no impact on the county's 2024 budget. The County Commission's decision to approve this funding was made during their meeting on June 4, 2024.
