Saline County Proclaims June 22 as Relay For Life Day

The Saline County Board of Commissioners has declared June 22, 2024, as "Relay For Life Day" in Saline County. This event, part of the global Relay For Life movement, aims to unite the community in the fight against cancer. With over 2 million new cancer cases and 611,000 deaths expected in the U.S. this year, the event highlights the urgent need for continued support and research.

Funds raised by Relay participants support the American Cancer Society’s mission, which includes funding research, education, and essential services for cancer patients. June is also National Cancer Survivors Month, celebrating over 18 million Americans who have successfully battled cancer.

Citizens are encouraged to participate in the Relay For Life event at Kansas Wesleyan University on June 22 by joining a team, donating, or volunteering.
