High-Speed Motorcycle Chase Ends in Arrest After Crash

On April 5th, 2024 at approximately 10:06 am, a motorcycle pursuit unfolded in Salina as an officer spotted a black motorcycle resembling one involved in a previous chase with the Kansas Highway Patrol. The driver, identified as Alex Cook-Myher, 34, allegedly attempted to evade arrest, reaching speeds over 90 mph and engaging in reckless maneuvers through city streets.

The chase culminated in a crash near Crawford Street and Phillips Avenue, where Cook-Myher attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a struggle with the officer. He was taken into custody at approximately 10:13 am. Cook-Myher, who had two active probation violations and a warrant for fleeing from the Kansas Highway Patrol, was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Requested charges include felony flee and elude, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and numerous traffic violations. Both the officer and Cook-Myher sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.
