County Commission Approves Bid for Lawn Mowing Services

County Commission Approves Bid for Lawn Mowing Services

During the County Commission meeting held on April 2, 2024, the Administrative Resource Center presented a request for action concerning the award of a bid for lawn mowing services.

Hannah Bett, representing the Administrative Resource Center, explained that the need for lawn mowing services arose with the relocation of the Sheriff's Office and the rental of 203 N 10th. Bid specifications were developed in collaboration with the Salina Police Department, resulting in four bids being received, with one bid not meeting specifications.

The bids were evaluated based on estimating 29 cuttings between April 15th and November 1st. ARD Mowing presented the lowest bid for both 2024 and 2025, followed by Four Brothers and Fox Lawn & Landscape.

The County Commission was presented with alternatives for action, including awarding the bid to ARD Mowing or selecting another vendor. After consideration, the Commission passed a 4-1 vote to award the bid and contract for lawn mowing services to ARD Mowing. This decision was supported by the Salina Police Department's agreement with the County's evaluation and recommendation.

The budget impact will be covered by the Facility Planning & Maintenance Department budget, which was allocated in February to better manage facility costs.
