Saline County Approves Purchase of New Dump Truck for Road and Bridge Department

During the April 2, 2024 County Commission meeting, a request for action was made by the Road and Bridge Department to award a contract for the purchase of a new dump truck. Utilizing governmental purchase contracts from Sourcewell, two quotes were received: $187,265.55 from MHC Kenworth and $147,396.00 from Truck Center Companies Freightliner. The staff recommendation was to accept the quote from Truck Center Companies, as their equipment meets all specifications and is compatible with the county's current truck inventory. The purchase will replace a 2004 Kenworth T-300 and will be funded from the 2024 Road and Bridge Budget's Capital Outlay line item. The County Commission unanimously passed the action.
