It was a cold and tense game against Beloit on Friday evening. The score was close all game, and the leaderboard changed regularly throughout. Going into the fourth quarter, Southeast of Saline was down 20 - 24.
The game came down to the wire, with 53 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter and Beloit up 28 - 30, the Trojans got the ball back, hoping for a miracle. Five quick plays later, the Trojans took the ball to the 24-yard line with 7 seconds left in the game.
Gannon Jacobson threw a pass to Kanyon Douglas in the end zone to make the game-winning touchdown as time ran out and the celebration began. The final score was 34 - 30.
Southeast of Saline is headed to the State Championship for the first time since 2005. The Trojans will play Nemaha Central for the State title on Friday, November 29th at 6:00 pm in the HCC - Gowans Stadium, Hutchinson.
