Through the Fog on Christmas: Video Captures Private Aircraft Landing in Salina

Christmas arrived in Salina wrapped in a thick blanket of fog, creating challenging travel conditions for people coming into the city by air.

Salina311 spoke with travelers arriving from across the country, including one pilot who flew into Salina from Virginia in a private aircraft. Photos and video shared with Salina311 show dense fog settling over the city on Christmas Day, limiting visibility and creating a dramatic aerial view of Salina below.

The fog also affected commercial air travel. Several travelers arriving on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day reported flight delays of up to five hours, as crews waited for conditions to improve enough for safe landings.

While the fog complicated arrival plans, many travelers said they were simply grateful to make it to Salina in time to spend the holiday with family and friends, even if Christmas started a little later than planned.
