On the morning of August 7, 2024, authorities were dispatched to a construction site for Citywide Storage on South Ninth Street after employees discovered a theft that had occurred between 8:00 pm on August 6 and 7:00 am on August 7.
Various spools of wire, a wire rack valued at $50, and 160 feet of wire from a junction box were stolen, resulting in a loss of $1,890 and $300 in damages. Additionally, a private contractor reported that a white 2003 trailer at the site was broken into, with several DeWalt drills and batteries stolen, amounting to a $1,680 loss.
The combined total loss from the thefts is estimated at $3,570, with $320 in damages. There are currently no suspects or video surveillance. The investigation is ongoing.
