Theatre will Hold Audition Workshop

Theatre Salina & Center for Theatre Arts will hold an audition clinic open to potential new auditionees for the upcoming season. Michael Spicer, Tyler Breneman, and Maggie Spicer Brown will lead. This will be on June 3rd at 10:00am. Participants will learn what to do to present the best version of their talents at an audition. The workshop will discuss subjects such as “What song is best for me?”, “What should I wear?”, “How can I prepare for a dance audition?” and many other topics.

The purpose of this workshop is to make attendees comfortable with the audition process whether this is their first audition or they’ve auditioned many times. Maggie Spicer Brown is the Education Director at Theatre Salina and has directed and choreographed such shows as “Mamma Mia”, “Freaky Friday”, “Something Rotten.” She will choreograph the “Matilda” to open the next season. Tyler Brenaman has been musical director for a number of shows including “The Addams Family” and “Fiddler on the Roof” Tyler is part of the creative team for “Matilda”. Michael Spicer has directed more than 90 shows at Theatre Salina.

Attendance is limited to those 8 and older. Parents of young auditionees are encouraged to stay and get their questions answered as well. The workshop is limited to the first 25 registrants.
