The Things They Carried: Vietnam Veteran Panel, A First Thursday Presentation

Fifty years ago, in 1973, the Paris Peace Accords were signed, signaling the end of America’s combatant role in Vietnam. But, what was Vietnam? To some, it’s just words on a page. To others, it’s grainy, eerie images. To others, Vietnam has become part of their life stories. This 1st Thursday offers a safe place for three Vietnam veterans to bring history alive, share their stories and answer questions. Veterans include Doug Randolph, 1stMarine Division; Jim Deister, Combat Engineer, 9th Infantry Division; and Mario G. Mata, 1st Cavalry Division. Thank you to the Vietnam Veterans Association of America, VFW, VVA, DAV, USMC League, American Legion, friends and many others.

This presentation is offered by the Smoky Hill Museum, Thursday, May 4, 5:30-6:45. Experience the panel in-person or register to watch it via Zoom, at www.smokyhillmuseum.org. It will also be available on Facebook until noon on Tuesday, May 9.
