Tescott, Kansas experienced flooding on Monday following heavy rainfall across the region. Images shared by The Lumberyard on Facebook showed high water levels in parts of the community.
The National Weather Service reported that Salina received 2.6 inches of rain in a six-hour period earlier in the day, with total accumulation projected between 6 and 7 inches. A Flood Warning remains in effect for Saline County until 1:08 a.m. on September 10.
Many Tescott residents commute to Salina for work, and local flooding is expected to affect travel in and out of the area. Officials continue to encourage caution on roadways and remind drivers not to attempt driving through flooded streets.
