On Thursday, July 13 at 10:15 pm, an officer on patrol in the 200 block of S Broadway allegedly observed a person whom was believed to have municipal court warrants. The subject was identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey McLemore.

The officer stopped to arrest McLemore on his believed warrants. McLemore allegedly refused to stop, turned toward the officer, and was holding some sort of object in his hand. This was later identified as a pressure washer wand. The officer displayed their taser, to which McLemore allegedly said that the officer would have to shoot him. McLemore then turned and allegedly ran away.

The officer caught up to him, and McLemore turned and allegedly swung the pressure washer wand at the officer's head. The officer was able to deflect it by raising his arm, but was still struck with it.

McLemore was arrested on his six court warrants, as well as the requested charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer, and interference with a law enforcement officer.
