Successful Drug Take Back Day in Saline County Yields Nearly 190 Pounds of Unused Prescription Medications

In a collaborative effort, the Saline County Sheriff's Office recently hosted Drug Take Back Day, resulting in the collection of 189.6 pounds of unused prescription drugs. This year, the drop-off locations were Dillons on Cloud and Walmart. Although the total collected this year is slightly less than the previous year, local authorities remain pleased with the community's participation and commitment to proper drug disposal. The collected medications will undergo safe disposal by burial at the landfill. Since 2013, a remarkable total of over 13,500 pounds of prescription drugs have been safely disposed of, contributing to a healthier and safer community.
