The highly anticipated Annual Fishing with a Cop event took place yesterday at Lakewood Park, bringing together law enforcement officers and community members for a day of fun-filled activities. The event saw an impressive turnout, with over 20 officers representing various agencies, including the Salina Police Department, Saline County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Fish and Game Warden, and Kansas Highway Patrol.
Children between the ages of 4 and 14 eagerly joined the event, creating a lively atmosphere as they interacted with the dedicated officers. Officer Kyle Jacobs, in coordination with Brian Underwood from Salina Parks and Recreation, efficiently organized this year's event, ensuring its success.
The event kicked off with warm greetings from law enforcement officers, who engaged with the young participants, fostering a sense of camaraderie and trust within the community. Prizes were given away, along with fishing poles and tackle boxes, and pizza for lunch.
