On July 6 at 3:20 pm, police received a report of a red 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 driving over a stump and through a yard in the 700 block of Guernsey, causing 120 feet of damage on apartment complex property.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle, driven by Nicole Hoffschneider, 39, from Bennington. She was being investigated for DUI. During the investigation, a 40-year-old male from Salina called the police department to report his truck stolen from the Super 8 motel where he works.
The vehicle Hoffschneider was driving during the incident was the male victim's truck valued at $3,200. Hoffschneider faces charges of theft, criminal damage to property, and DUI.
