The splash pad at Jerry Ivey Memorial Park will be temporarily closed due to construction work for the installation of a new wastewater line. This infrastructure improvement is necessary to support future enhancements at the park, including work on the pond.
The closure will be in effect from Wednesday, June 21 to Friday, June 23. The affected area includes the splash pad and areas leading to the bathroom. Access to this area will be restricted during the closure to ensure public safety.
Visitors are advised to plan their park visits accordingly and explore alternative splash pads within the City of Salina. Signage will be posted at the splash pad in Jerry Ivey Memorial Park to provide information and guidance.
During the closure, residents can enjoy two other splash pads located at Centennial Park and Hawthorne Park, both maintained by the City of Salina. These alternative options offer a similar water play experience.
The splash pad at Jerry Ivey Memorial Park is expected to reopen on Saturday, June 24 at 8 am, providing the community with an improved recreational space.
The City of Salina acknowledges that construction projects can cause inconveniences and thanks residents for their understanding and patience during this time. For any updates or inquiries regarding the closure, please contact Salina Parks and Forestry at (785) 826-7275.
