South Ninth Street & Saturn Avenue Signal Repair

South Ninth Street & Saturn Avenue Signal Repair

The City of Salina Public Works Department is having to install a new traffic signal cabinet and pedestrian signal pole due to an accident at the intersection of South Ninth Street and Saturn Avenue. Staff will have to work with multiple outside contractors to accomplish this and may take multiple days for the repair to be completed. Due to the repair, the intersection lights may be off (blacked-out) or in flashing red at times and portable stop signs will be used to help direct traffic through the intersection.

Reminder when approaching a blacked-out or flashing red light intersection, you should come to a complete stop, check all directions to ensure there is no traffic and proceed when clear. The driver that approached the signal first determines the right-of-way. Both blacked-out and flashing red lights have the same meaning as a STOP sign.
