Solomon Man Arrested After Allegedly Hitting Girlfriend's Co-Worker With Car

On Wednesday, December 1, at 1:10 am officers responded to the block of 500 State St for the report of an aggravated battery.

The 21-year-old male victim, a Salina resident, reported that he had been taken home from work by a female co-worker. This upset the co-worker's boyfriend, who returned to the victim's residence and found him walking in the alleyway.

The boyfriend, who was later identified as 18-year-old Simon Smith of Solomon, allegedly approached the victim with a 2015 Toyota Camry. The victim attempted to jump out of the way but was struck by the vehicle. He reports that he went up onto the hood of the vehicle, which damaged the vehicle's windshield. The victim received some minor bruises and scratches.

Officers made contact with Smith, who was still in the area. He was arrested on the following requested charge:
