Solomon Farmer, Ray Kohman, Secures Another Term as President of Kansas National Farmers

Solomon farmer Ray Kohman has been re-elected for another term as the President of Kansas National Farmers. The announcement was made during the state assembly held at Rolling Hills Zoo on August 17.

The meeting also saw the election of other officers to crucial roles within the organization. Ruben Zoller of Marquette will serve as Vice-President, while Therese Seiler from Colwich will undertake the responsibilities of Treasurer. Greg Stephens, hailing from Salina, has been appointed Secretary, and Joan Jackson from Mayetta assumes the role of Trustee.

Attending farmers passed a resolution advocating for legislative action in support of the Right to Repair Equipment as an issue the state legislature should consider. The successful passage of similar legislation in Colorado was highlighted by Greg Stephens, who serves as the facilitator for resolutions. The measure garnered backing not only from agricultural circles but also from motorcycle, electronic repair businesses, and farm equipment repair shops.

Offering expert insights into the agricultural landscape, Therese Seiler, the grain specialist from National Farmers, addressed concerns about grain markets alongside Eric Harding from Hansen Mueller Company. Both speakers stressed the necessity for producers to be poised to sell grains during market rallies. They highlighted global grain supply dynamics, sluggish exports, challenges posed by Brazil's crop production, and the market volatility resulting from the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Kansas National Farmers operates as a vital component of the National Farmers Organization, a non-profit entity dedicated to serving the interests of conventional and organic farmers. Renowned for its expertise in bargaining and marketing, the organization specializes in commodities such as grain, milk, livestock, and specialty crops.
